Skidrow Thought of the Day

God totally brought us together with the right people, when we went to Skidrow last month. We met everyone from the guy on the street at 2am who wanted to pray for us, to the CEO of the Union Rescue Mission breaking down his mini testimony and treating us with love and respect!  We even did an interview with the guy that paints all these walls that you see above.

This picture I’m attaching  says it all: "skidrow is holy ground." I really believe that this is true…cause everyone we met on the street confessed Christ’s name. That’s all that is really required, when you think of the two guys on the cross next to Jesus. The one guy says "remember me in paradise." He know’s he’s a sinner, he believes Jesus is Lord. Well, everyone on skidrow is like that. They are addicted to drugs, and whatever, but they will ask to pray, they will cry when we pray, and some even asked to pray for us! Jesus said that those who confess his name on earth, he will confess their name in heaven…So it’s just really amazing that Skidrow los Angeles, a place so "dark" and full of "sin," is actually more glorious and honest than many churches today…
So skidrow is really holy ground. IT’s weird how God works isn’t it!

PS: The other guy on the cross, next to Jesus, tells Jesus to "prove" he’s the son of God by getting them off the crosses. That is a pretty normal request, isn’t it? He’s not saying that he hates God, or isn’t down….he’s saying "do this one thing for me and then maybe I’ll believe." Many people today refer to God in that same context. And I’m not saying that God won’t meet those people on their own terms…cause he can do anything he wants…But back to the two guys next to Christ on the cross, the one guys says "I’m a sinner, remember me." The other guy says "prove I should believe in you…" So who’s really "God" in that context?
